CoreWeave
Also known as: Core Weave
CoreWeave occupies the upper end of the GPU cloud market — less a tool for individual builders and more infrastructure for AI companies running serious scale. Its core offering is Kubernetes-native GPU compute with high-performance InfiniBand networking, which is the kind of low-latency GPU interconnect needed for training large models across many machines simultaneously. It is purpose-built for AI, with none of the general-purpose database and web hosting baggage that comes with hyperscalers.
For teams that have outgrown shared GPU cloud options and are not ready (or willing) to run their own data centers, CoreWeave sits in the middle ground. Several large AI labs and fast-growing AI companies use it for training runs and inference at scale. It went public in 2025 and has secured major enterprise infrastructure contracts.
For most builders building products on top of existing models, CoreWeave is not a direct tool — it is the infrastructure layer someone else manages on their behalf. But understanding it helps frame the broader supply chain: when a hosted inference API says their infrastructure is purpose-built for AI, CoreWeave (or similar) is often what that means at the hardware level.
