dsh-superagent
Also known as: DeepSeek super-agent, dsh superagent prototype, deepseek-ai/dsh-superagent-prototype
dsh-superagent flips the usual coding-agent model. Instead of waiting for a developer to open a terminal and run a command, it lives on a repository around the clock. Allowed team members can request work by posting a GitHub comment or a Feishu chat message; the agent picks it up, opens a parallel worker session, does the work, and returns a pull request through the same conversation where the request started.
DeepSeek's Harness team published it on October 31, 2026 as deepseek-ai/dsh-superagent-prototype on GitHub, alongside a design document titled 'Exploring Super-agent Design: Towards a More Autonomous Agent System'. The document argues that the unit of agent work should stop being the session and that the right metric to minimize is human attention cost per action, not benchmark pass rate. A noisy autonomous bot that interrupts ten engineers is described as worse than a quiet manual tool.
Architecturally it uses a Router session for interaction and task dispatch and isolated Worker sessions for execution. Permissions are strict: a message or quoted document can inform a decision but cannot expand what the agent is allowed to do. DeepSeek tested the prototype on simulated group-chat and CI message streams, recording a median task completion time of 12.4 minutes. The project is a research prototype, not a production product, and DeepSeek warns it runs with full OS user access and should be isolated before use.
