E2B
Also known as: e2b.dev, E2B Sandbox
One of the core challenges with AI coding agents is that they need to run code to verify their work, but letting an agent run arbitrary commands on your machine is a security risk. E2B solves this by providing cloud-based sandboxes: lightweight, isolated compute environments that spin up in milliseconds, run whatever code the agent needs to execute, and disappear when the task is done.
Each sandbox is isolated from everything else, including your local files and production infrastructure. The agent can install packages, run tests, execute shell commands, and browse the web inside the sandbox without any of those actions touching anything outside it. If the agent does something destructive inside the sandbox, you just discard it and start fresh.
E2B is used primarily by teams building their own AI coding products and agents rather than by end-user builders directly. If you're building a custom coding assistant, an AI pair-programming tool, or an autonomous software engineer, E2B provides the execution layer. It integrates with Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI, and most major agent frameworks.
