Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform

Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (announced at Google Cloud Next 2026) is the evolution of Vertex AI specifically for the agentic era. Vertex AI was Google's ML training and deployment platform; the new platform reorients everything around agents that can execute complex, multi-step workflows and interact across enterprise systems. It combines model selection and building capabilities from Vertex AI with new layers for agent integration, security policies, DevOps pipelines, and production observability, under a single interface at console.cloud.google.com/agent-platform.

The platform provides access to over 200 models through Model Garden, including Google's own Gemini family as well as Anthropic's Claude models, giving teams model flexibility within a governed environment. The Agent Development Kit (ADK), the open-source framework that sits alongside the platform, reached version 2.0 in May 2026 with a graph-based workflow execution engine and a structured Task API for multi-agent orchestration with A2A protocol support.

For enterprise teams evaluating where to build agents, Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform competes directly with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and Microsoft's Foundry Agent Service.
