Claude Design

Also known as: Claude Design tool, Anthropic Design product

An Anthropic Labs product that lets you create polished visual work, including designs, prototypes, slides, and one-pagers, in collaboration with Claude. Launched in April 2026, it reads your codebase and design files to apply your brand's design system consistently.

Claude Design is a first-party Anthropic product released in April 2026 as part of Anthropic Labs. It lets individuals and teams collaborate with Claude to produce visual work: mockups, slide decks, one-pagers, interactive prototypes, and branded documents. Unlike a general chat interface, Claude Design has a visual-output surface built for creative and communication deliverables.

One of its distinguishing features is design-system awareness. Claude Design can read a team's codebase and existing design files, then apply that brand's visual language consistently across every project it creates. Teams can maintain more than one design system and refine individual components over time, so outputs stay on-brand without manually re-specifying styles in each session.

As of launch, Claude Design runs on Claude Opus 4.7 and is available as a research preview for Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers. It sits alongside Claude Cowork (multi-step task automation) and Claude Code (agentic coding) as one of several specialized product surfaces Anthropic has layered on top of the underlying Claude models.
